The restoration and relocation of a local memorial honoring fallen soldiers is set to begin next month.
A Chicago Council of Gold Star Mothers memorial that is located at the southeast corner of 87th Street and Western Avenue in the Dan Ryan Woods will be decommissioned and prepared for its new location on Nov. 9 at 11 a.m., according to officials.
The decommissioning ceremony, they said, will include a color guard, guest speakers and a playing of Taps.
