19th Ward Mutual Aid, which runs the Free Store that distributes food at Morgan Park Presbyterian Church, and Turpin Cares, which runs the Hygiene and First Aid Free Store in partnership with the Beverly Area Planning Association (BAPA), are hosting a Wrap Party and End of Summer Outdoor Celebration on Wednesday, Sept. 8, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., at Morgan Park Presbyterian Church, 11052 S. Longwood Dr.
19th Ward Mutual Aid has distributed food for the last 60 weeks to over 5,500 families, representing 19,000 people.
“Several factors have come together to make us feel that the time is right to shut down the operation,” said Tim Noonan, founder of the group. “And, while we’re at it, we might as well celebrate the accomplishments and thank our volunteers and donors.”
