Safety and Security

Our neighborhood has a large population of first responders. It always has. We want to be safe and secure. A lot of the city resources are focused on policing, yet we are not any safer, if anything we are less safe. What is the answer? What the city has been doing obviously does not work.

Old solutions to new problems.

I do not pretend to know the answer to these questions.  I do know that we need a new approach to the overtly militarization of our police force and the mental health of the citizens of Chicago, including first responders. This needs to be addressed quickly. I propose that we take a new approach that includes every stakeholder. Find where the distrust lies and build upon mutual goals for a safer Chicago.

The question is, do you feel safer and more secure with the way things are?
